Last week  noticed there was a blob of ink at the left had end of the sponge pads that are under the head/carriage track of my R800 and the heads were being contaminated by it. I cleaned up the blob temporarily and booked  my printer in for a service at my local Epson approved service centre.
They called me in and showed me the problem: a leaking red cartridge.
I recently bought a batch of (genuine) Epson cartridges from Amazon and the red was the first to get used. What I hadn't spotted was the red was a counterfeit, or "compatible" to be kind.
Amazon had supplied via one of their associated merchants and they must have "mis- picked" (again being kind). I've not yet had a response to my complaint.

The point of all this is to warn about using compatible cartridges. I know there may be good quality items out there but when you see the rubbish my local service centre has to deal with, I would think twice about using them for serious printing.

The service man told me they can do big prints for if required, on a 9880. I said I use "best in the world" printing software called Qimage, he said "that's what we use, it's so easy to print any size required with it"
At least the is little escapade ended on a happy note

No, it was not a re-load but a copy bit of plastic in a vacuum pack, no box as I remember.
Most of the labels were a good copy, that's why I was fooled.
