Frankly, I didn't know there was a wrong way to close Qimage.
Either use the X top right of the screen, a standard Windows closer, or click FILE and EXIT.
The color of that top right X might vary depending on the skin you have chosen for Qimage.

The only time I would ever get a message telling me that Qimage was not shut down properly last time it was used, would be if something crashed that was open at the same time Qimage was open.
Perhaps, you could give more detail about how you are closing Qimage, or when this error message occurs; how often; what else is running?

That's the part that confuses me.... now and then?
I would uninstall Qimage, and disable your anti virus application for a minute. Reinstall, and enable the AV software after the reinstall.
Make sure you haven't messed with the default locations when Qimage is installing. It will remember the change you made.

Sorry I wasn't clear!
I was messing with a time cramp, lunch with the guys and fooling with Windows 7.

OK Disable your Anti virus software. Uninstall Qimage and reinstall while the Anti virus application is disabled.
After Qimage is reinstalled, you can turn the Anti Virus application back on again.

As to the default location for the install.
If you changed anything while installing, the installer remembers that change, so you should leave everything at default.
Default:  1st screen  location; C:\Program Files\Qimage
Default: 2nd screen location; C: Programdata\ddisoftware\qimage

Those two suggestions should give you a clean install.
