I believe that Qimage ultimate (I have v.2014.115) contains many camera profiles. I am looking for a profile for my Nikon D800, but cannot track down where the list is. Please advise!

There is the D800 It comes automatically with your Qimage Ultimate, and installs automatically in the proper location. Make sure you have USE CAMERA PROFILE checked in the Raw Options. Hallo Fred,
Many thanks for superfast reply. I successfully downloaded the latest version, which is said to include all camera profiles I went to Raw Format Options>Raw Image Options>Working Color Space>Enable Custom Profiles (already ticked).
Is that the right destination i.e. can I now assume that the D800 profile will now automatically be used, or do I need to to tick on D800 somewhere to ensure it?

James James, Qimage should be picking up your profile automatically. You can see it either at the very bottom of the thumbnail screen in what is called the Hot Bar... see screen snap of my Canon 20 D profile. Or you can click the Print queue tab, lower right of the screen and read it there. See screen snaps Click on them to enlarge. fred |

Hi James, Looks like Fred's second screen shot is not there, so here's my version below. Also, welcome to the forum from another UK person, I live in Rugby, Warwickshire - where William Webb Ellis "picked up the ball and ran with it" which started the game of Rugby. Hallo Fred and Terry,
I have done as suggested, but cannot find any trace of a reference to the D800 profile being installed. I previously had the D700 profile -from the time when you downloaded just the one you wanted rather than getting the whole lot free -and I do recall it showing itself somewhere on the first page of Qimage, I think. It is now, of course, deleted. The D800 does not show up in any of the places suggested, so either it is not in fact installed, or is in a spot where I have not thought of looking.

Thanks for your patient help. James, You will find the camera profiles located in C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\qimage\profiles See screen snap... I circled the D800 in red. If you see that profile, but it doesn't attach itself to the, D800 there's usually a discrepancy in Camera name. For example: Some cameras have a different nomenclature when purchased in Europe or the US. That nomenclature has to match the profile name. This shot is from Terry's old camera. That camera name at that time, was EOS 350D. But it was alos called a T2i or something like that. I recall that Terry had to rename the profile to match the camera. Otherwise, it should work like a charm. I have (like Terry) some sample D 800 shots and they attach to the profile automatically. Fred |

I'm pretty sure D800.icm is the correct name for the profile.
I did a complete fresh install of QU on a new SSD C-drive just 2 weeks ago and the profile is there in the profiles folder as Fred describes. There is a D800E model, do you have that model? It does have a different exif name of D800E. That may be the problem.
If it is, make a copy of the D800 profile and re-name to D800E.icm and see if that works, no guarantee that the colours will be correct though.
If there's no sign of any D800 profile at all, re-installl QU over the top and you should get all profiles in the QU profile folder again.

Hello All I have been following this thread. I cannot see / confirm that Ultimate is picking up my Camera. Camera is a Pentax K20D which appears on the list - http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/tech-raw.htmbut in my QData only K10D and K100D appear. My QData is on a hard disk whereas the main prog files are on C: a SSD disk. I had to move the data to a separate disk owing to the file sizes. Asking a possible daft question - does all this really matter? and is it affected by what lens is actually on the camera? Clipboard03 shows my print queue Jeff |

Jeff, Hi! Please extend the view in your screen snap to see further to the right side. That's where you should see the profile name. See my snap. You can see the EOS 20D.icm As for the profile location. It should be in the folder that I described C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\qimage\profiles I don't see a Pentax K20D on the list The lens matters only if Mike has inserted distortion correction for your camera and lens. The colors that are captured by the camera are governed by algorithms for your sensor. Fred |

Jeff, The K20 is in the list of cameras supported for raw conversion but there is not, as yet, an icm profile. Look further down the page for cameras with QU custom raw profiles available. Off subjedct a little; My QData is on a hard disk whereas the main prog files are on C: a SSD disk. I had to move the data to a separate disk owing to the file sizes. I recently had an SSD C-drive fitted after my conventional HD started to fail in December. I have all my program data on that drive, DDI and others. It is a 240GB SSD and there is still 170GB free. Is yours a smaller SSD? However, in terms of speed, it probably does not make much difference as much of QU processing is CPU dependent wrt speed. Terry |

Hi Mike That camera must be fairly new... As soon as a profile is created for it, it will become part of the QU download. That said, Profiles must be created by a person who has the camera in hand plus an IT-8 target to shoot. You can use Adobe icm until someone with that camera helps to make one, or if you feel you want to be the first, contact Mike Chaney mchaney@ddisoftware.com and tell Mike that you want to try to shoot that target for your camera. He will send you instructions, and you email back the image to him... Hope some of this helps. Fred |

The Pentax K20D is listed under "Qimage Ultimate currently supports the following cameras:" Prob. not the same thing. But K10D.icm and K100D.icm close relatives are in my Qdata

My SSD is a 120, I did not take into account the space taken up by Ultimate data, so had to move it to a HD. I probably wasted my money but I cannot resist fiddling about.
