Hi All,
Question regarding paper size, if I may.

I am the lucky owner of a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MKI and under custom paper size it is possible to select 420X594mm. Is this the maximum paper size or can Qimage overcome this limitation?

Hi Shaun,
Usually Terry does the Metrics, but I can say, Qimage will print any length 500 feet or more (Convert that to metric, Terry) as long as the printer offers roll paper and Banner mode.

Hi Fred,

If that is true Qimage is worth its weight in gold (metric or imperial) so I can print panoramic prints and I don’t have to have the ‘stupid’ 35mm (11/4”) margin when I use Museium Etching paper. WOW!

PS

And my ink has turned up I will be printing at the weekend

Shaun,
Maybe I got something wrong. (I do get a lot wrong nowadays). But I don't quite understand the glee.
I had a moment this morning to look up the Pixma 9500 Pro II.

I was going to write to you about how Qimage supports panoramas to the extent that it will make the print size for you based on the puxel ratio.
Example: If your paper was 17" wide, and you made a user defined page of 16.5 " x 60", Qimage has a Custom print selection where you know the short side (16.5), it will, based on pixel count, make the proper long side.

Depending on the pixels of your pano, it might be any length, but it will be accurate and maximum size for the 16.5 width limit.

My wonderment stems from looking at the printer specs, specifically at the paper size.
As I said, maybe I missed something in the fine print, but it looks like 13" wide sheet paper is max.
My reply earlier was *If the printer uses roll paper and has Banner Mode........*
From your excitement, I thought you were going to use a roll of paper.

My printer does 13 x 19, and I tell Q my short side is 12.70, and it does the rest.
I *WISH* I had a 17" carriage with roll paper....

Hi Fred,
Many thanks,

Sadly, my printer does not have a ‘banner’ setting. I have no idea why and IMHO Canon have lost a lot of sales. The reason why I moved to Canon was my Epson (1270) would only work if I sprayed a lubricant onto the rails which the printer head used. I can leave my Canon for months and it still works fine. It is also very well built. Epson's do have a banner mode, and I had to think long and hard which printer to buy. In an ideal world I would have two printers!

14” is the maximum width I can use in the Canon Paper Settings. Sorry, but I am Confused whether I can print longer, I think I can with Qimage, I too often get things wrong, luckily, we have an excellent forum here.  Smiley

Hi Shaun,
I had to download and install the driver to look for myself.
NO Roll paper, and therefore no Banner Mode.
Looks like the largest print you can make would be 26.28 x 13.73. That still means you have to find paper 14.0 wide x 26.60 long.

Still looks like a very fine printer, and you should get many hours of pleasure.

Hi Fred,

Many thanks for your post, and thanks, yes I am very happy with my printer, especially, now I use Qimage. I will buy a roll of paper. I use Hahnemühle museum etching, well Canon branded paper, but I can easily buy a roll direct.

Once again thanks
