Title: Epson 1280 13" printer
Post by: richard cooper on March 30, 2010, 02:57:48 PM
This is a double question.
I have 2 Epson stylus Photo 1280 printers that produce excellent IQ prints.

First, is has become very difficult in locating Matte roll paper 13" X 100'. Any suggestions for a source.

Second, if I was to upgrade to a new model that can use roll paper 17" X 100' any suggestions?
Just don't want to break the bank.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Without knowing where you are, it is difficult to recomend a paper supplier - I guess you would not want to pay import duties  :).

It is quite possible to have a roll of paper cut down to a specific width e.g. a 24 inch roll would give a 13 inch wide roll and another about 10.8 inch wide - allowing a bit for the saw blade. If you have access to a table saw, with a sharp, fine toothed blade, you can diy.

Best wishes,

Ray

Hawk Mountain papers.  I have even had some papers cut by them--42" roll to three 13" rolls.  Couple of dollars per cut.

You cannot cut glosy rolls though.
