I wanted an inexpensive 6-color PIGMENTED printer. I bought an Epson 1430 machine. Yes, I know... it is made for dye ink. That's OK... just go to www.inkjetcarts.us and ask for Ross Hardie. He'll sell you some bulk PIGMENTED ink and a continuous ink delivery system. Then, come back here and buy the Profile Prism kit for $79.00 and make your own custom ICC Profile... and WALLA!! You will have a SUPER, wide-throat (13") pigmented ink system. It works SUPER!! If you're bright enough to drive a car, you can make your own custom profile. But you MUST read and follow the instructions that Mike provides on this web site.. I've had my printer set up and working for about 3 years. The 1430 prints up to 13" x 19" and also printe DC/DVD disks. I use it professionally for all of our customer printing. I use Photoshop CS6 but any editor that uses profiles (QImage, Photoshop Elements, etc) will work just fine.
