Title: Epson 3880 Networking issues - Offline Post by: nbagno on October 08, 2015, 02:37:40 PM Moving my printer from USB to Ethernet. Using windows 10. I have my 3880 set manually for 192.168.1.111 I have reserved that IP address in my router (just in case) although it doesn't seem to matter. I can see and configure the printer by going to it's IP address or using the Epson network utility.
When I first install the Epson printer software it works over the network until I reboot. Then it shows off line in devices/control panel and the only way I can get it to work over the network is to reinstall the printer software. Even after the reboot I can ping the printers IP, I can see it using Epson's network utility (shows ready to print) and I can access the printer (and configure it) by going to it's IP address. I have the printer set to use off-line which is set up by default and is suggested by Epson. I've deleted and added the TCI/IP port. Prints just sit in queue. Haven't called Epson yet... On the machine where the printer is connected, try going to "Services" and then set all services that start with "Epson" to "Delayed start". You can also try the same with the "Print Spooler" service. See if that helps.

I like to think I know what I'm doing, I work for the largest networking company in the world. I've spent hours on this and nothing I did would resolve it. So this morning I start my compute and the stupid thing works. Seriously? I'm sure it will crap out when I need it the most :-)
