Hello everyone, not sure if this topic has been covered yet; but is there any chance that future Qimage revisions will have the ability to print longer than 44" restricted by the Epson's 3880 driver? I know unlike the 2200 and R2400 (which both have the banner/roll option in its driver), that the 3880 does not have the banner/roll option. But was wondering if there's still some way around this. I wish there was a reasonable cost solution (i.e., expensive RIP software) that will allow this printer to go beyond its current 44" print limitation. Also, I don't want to upgrade to a more expensive Epson with more expensive consumable costs.  Thanks!

Mark,
It's the driver limitation, not so much on limit of print size, but it limits the paper size. It will not recognize anything over 37" long.
You must be able to tell the driver how large the paper is... otherwise it cannot calculate where the print goes.
As far as I recall, some people I know tried to fool the driver and even made some Rube - Goldberg spool for roll paper.
Unless someone out there has performed a miracle sizectomy on that driver, I will have to say not available.

Oh well, thanks Fred. I guess I'll just stay with my trusty 2200 & R2400 untill they die, or Epson releases their next round of printers that hopefully are just a few clicks under the 4880 series price tags. And will print 17" wide and longer that 37". Or perhaps someone will find a way to perfrom that miracle sizectomy as you mentioned. Perhaps they'll even sell 100 or so copies of that software too!
