Title: Epson p700 question
Post by: MelW on November 01, 2024, 01:50:01 AM
Have been using Epson Stylus R3000 (and couple of other printers) and now appears that Epson is discontinuing the 157 ink cartridges for the 3000.  I really don't want to start with 3rd party ink so am considering several different replacement options, one of them is the Epson p700.  I notice that the Epson support site does not have any paper profiles for the p700 - even for the common Epson papers.  Just curious, if any of you have a p700, how do you get the profiles?

Hi Mel,
I don't have a P700 but I did have a P800 and basic profiles were installed for Epson when settingu my P800 (and now my P5360).
Good paper manufacturers will have profiles for their papers suitale for the P700.
as an aside, if you are still considering a P700, if I were you, I would do my sums in regard to buying a P700 and a P900 re the cost of the ink.
Last time I checked (here in Australia), ink for the P700 was about twice the price per millilitre than it was for the P900. The difference in price between the machines would soon be nullified by the cheaper ink for the P900. Anyway, food for thought.
Cheers NoelB

I used to have a 24" Epson 7890 and wore it out over the years. I have replaced it with the P900 which prints A2, if I need bigger, which is rare, I get someone else to do it. My point being that I love the P900. I was worried going from 320mm carts down to 50mm but it is no problem. I have had the printer about a year now and have never had to do a head clean. The space the 7890 was in is now an excecise bike :-) > go for it. Get the P900, you won't regret it.
