I'm currently setting up a new computer. It runs Windows 7. I've added a network printer successfully. When I try and  print I get the dialogue
to name the file. I don't want to print to a file. The "print to file" box is not checked. How do I get this fixed?

Any help would be appreciated.

What software application are you using to create the print?
If you use Qimage, click File, then PRINT TO: and select Printer.

I simply select print from the menu, select the Canon printer, the Canon setup window appears and I click print. Nothing different
than I've been doing for years. Yet now, the issue in my original post cropped up.

Are you using Qimage to print?
If so you need to click FILE. PRINT TO:  and then select Printer.
Right now Qimage (if you are using Qimage) has defaulted to Print to file probably because there was no installed printer.

Problem solved...the networked computer I was sharing was set up in its properties to print to file. I simply changed the port preference.
