Title: Printer out of date
Post by: fencer on January 06, 2017, 11:46:25 AM
Happy New Year to one and all.

I use a Canon Pro9000 and am generally very pleased with it . It is certainly not overworked and in 1st class condition but,  Qimage had a seizure last night forcing a hard shutdown. When I restarted the computer and reentered Qimage a pop-up informed me that I should do a driver update on the printer to avoid this type of problem.  Annoyingly, Canon say the 9000 is no longer supported.   I know they are not that expensive but it seems a bit if a waste to buy a new one.  Any suggestions?

D.

Hi, D
I do not see what you are seeing.
I have the Pro 9000 running in my Qimage, albeit, I do not have the printer, but the driver is functioning fine.
That is the key. Driver works, printer will work.
The driver download only says that they are not issuing a special W  10 driver, but the W 8.1 (either 32 or 64) works fine. That driver is available for download.

I am running W 10 64 bit

Hope this helps.

Fred
PS Just tell the Canon screen that your operating system is W 8.1 (32 or 64)

Thanks Fred. That is helpful but according to Canon's info I am already running 10. I can't seem to find the pro 9000 in their lists only the mk.2.  The warning window I received about possible compatibility glitches was a popup on restarting my computer which vanished almost immediately. As it seems to be OK at the moment I'll leave it at that.

Thanks.

Glad it is all working.
Just wanted to comment that Canon auto detects your operating system.
Then no driver for W 10
See screen snap attached.
You have to change Canon to think you have W 8.1
Then it will allow the download of the driver

For the future.
