Title: printing on 11x14 paper
Post by: Dunkinidaho on August 01, 2021, 04:24:12 PM
Having difficulty printing on 11x14 paper. I send the edited image from Lightroom to QI ultimate but the print I get is 2.75 x3.75 inches. Manually chose 11x14 print size and a paper size that should have worked--13x19. There is no selection listed for 11x14 paper which I find obsurd since it's always been considered a standard print size for dozens of years. Wasted 3 sheets of good paper before I switched to cheaper paper to continue the experiment. Can't figure this out. Obviously missing something.

What printer are you using?Just a fast look  showed 4 printers with no 11 x 14 paper size offer

Using pro-100 canon
I have and use a Pro 100.
It does  not offer 11 x 14 paper as a size selection.
When I make 11 x 14s for someone, I simply use a larger paper size like A3+ (13 x 19) and specifying my print size to 11 x 14.or A3 and setting print to 11 x 14.
You can get a frame to accommodate or trim the psper with your trimmer.
Below are 3 samples. 137 is 11 x 14 on A3
The others are on A3+ size

Great that you're able to do it. I've tried everything without success. Thinking of buying a printer that has 11x14 in it's menu choices. I think the problem is with Qimage not Canon. The printer is a dumb piece of equipment that will print whatever you feed it.

The "problem" as you defined it is that the driver doesn't support 11x14 paper.  How can that be the fault of Qimage?  It would be well advised to learn how to use your printer and driver as those will be a prerequisite to any software you decide to use: all software uses the same driver and the software has to obey the capabilities of that driver/printer.  11x14 media not supported in the driver: it will not be supported in any software that uses that driver.  Once you are familiar with drivers and how they work, there are some tricks you can do to "fool" the driver into printing on 11x14 paper: for example, select 11x17 in the driver (the closest the driver will allow) and then select borderless.  Then in Qimage, enter a 3 inch bottom margin: this defines an 11x14 area at the top of the page.  Then print by feeding the printer 11x14 paper even though 11x17 size is selected.

Regards,
Mike

Is the problem really paper size or print size?  If it's print size, remember, QU lets you define any print size that you want and save that size for future use.  A few years ago, I needed to make a bunch of prints that were 3.5 x 7.25 inches (don't ask) three of them fit nicely on an 8 1/2 x 11. Anyway, that size still shows on my size dropdowns - I probably should delete it as I wont be using it again (I hope).
