There's probably an obvious answer staring me in the face but.....

Have just replaced my Epson R2400 with a Canon Pro 9000 MKII. Set up the printer properties to allow me to work via Qimage and use an ICC profile for my printer/paper combination (The Canon and Ilford Classic).

I generated a TIFF image in Lightroom, which creates it with a Prophoto ICC profile. When I print the image vie Qimage the print has a very red cast to it. Having played around with the printer properties to no avail I then tried a print thru' Lightroom using the same printer properties and ICC print/paper combination I used before. Result...no red cast. I then created an Adobe ICC profiled image of the same file thru' Capture one and took this into Qimage. Result...again no red cast.

I can't see what is going on here....ideas?

I think I have solved my problem....had a look in the Program files/qimage folder and there was no Prophoto ICM in there so copied one from system32/spool/driver/color and printed the image again thru' Qimage...result..perfect!!!

Question...should there have been a Prophoto ICM in the Qimage folder in the first place???

See screen snaps to make sure the Canon driver is set to No Color Adjustment.
You didn't mention what paper and which profile (name) you set to use in Qimage as a printer profile.
Canon printers are very paper specific and profile specific.
You must use the matching profile for the paper.

If the Prophoto color profile was embedded in the image from Lightroom, then you didn't need to have it in Qimage. Apparently, it wasn't the embedded color space of the image.

Thanks for the reply. My screen shots match the ones you put up and....Qimage under 'Display image info' shows the image to have a Prophoto ICC from Lightroom. As I said, until I copied a Prophoto ICM into the Qimage folder the image printed with a red cast.

Incidentally, I am using Ilford Classic Gloss paper with profile IGCGP9-CANP9000 MkII_PPPGII.icc as supplied by Ilford; I usually create my own profiles for printer/paper combinations but I decided to try the suppliers first.

Incidentally, my experience with Ilford paper/profiles is to read the requirements carefully. Example: I use a Smooth Gloss Gallerie paper and the instructions call for choosing Semi Gloss in my Epson even though one would think Glossy would be right. They even request Relative Colorimetric as teh intent, even though most ask for Perceptual.   (Weird)

On the Prophoto profile, I don't have it in either Qimage or any of the Qimage folders. It is located in the C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Driver\Color   folder.
So you got me wondering on that one.

Been checking. If the prophoto.icm is embedded as you say it was, then Qimage defers to the embedded profile, and doesn't care if you have a copy or where you keep a copy of the prophoto.icm.
So you must have had something else twisted and got it untwisted.
Anyway, glad it's all sorted.

That was my understanding and, just to satisfy myself, I removed the Prophoto ICM from the Qimage folder and printed expecting another 'red' print but....it was OK!! I must have done something funny before but lord knows what.....anyway...all OK now...and a bit more understanding...

When using Ilford paper and profiles, it's absolutely critical to follow Ilford's printer settings verbatim, even if they sound "wrong".  Pay attention to the media type mandated by Ilford.
