I have just purchased a used Epson R2400 printer and would like to know if there is any thing I need to get it to work properly with Qimage and are there any profiles for this printer?   I do not see any listed in the Prism Profiles section up here...   This is my first 8 color pigment ink printer and if anyone has any feed back on this printer good or bad.   I purchased it off Ebay for $250.00  I think I got a good deal even though it came with no ink cartridges...   So I start the printer with all full (at cost to me) ink cartridges...

There may be some on the CD that comes with the printer if you have it but you can download Epson profiles here:

Ilford do profiles for their own paper too, http://www.ilford.com/en/ . You have to register but they are free.

Get the latest driver from the Epson site also.

You can get Colorbase off the Euro site if you want to go that far.  It will set the printer back to factory linear, but will cost some ink as you go.

I have an Epson R2400 printer and it is a great printer.  I use the Media Street inks and have the continious ink flow system on it from Media Street.  My cousin does profiles so I had him make me a profile for Ilford paper and it looks great.

That's exactly why making your own profile for your printer and paper is perfect.
Ilford supplies profiles for their paper, but they expect or assume Epson inks.
When you use Media street inks, then you print your targets, and "roll your own".

That should help to clarify when and why a person buys software like Profile Prism to make his own profiles.

I am not for sure what program he uses, but they come out great.  I had a profile made by someone else and it wasn't as good as my cousins.  I use only Ilford Galerie Smooth Glossy paper and you can buy it at Sams really reasonable.

I have a friend who has purchased a full Spectrophotometer and software and makes his own and for friends perfectly, every time.
