I have finally gotten my new computer sort of set up. Now I find all the issues that kept me from upgrading my win 7 machine to win 10.

After some help here I got my qimage ultimate transferred over to the new machine and I find I no longer have a driver for my epson 7600.

After lots of trial and error still not able to load a driver to the new computer. I have read that there is no driver for win 10 but I have also read
that some folks have found work arounds and are able to load the driver. I have not been able to find anything specific to try.

So any help or links to info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 9900 that has given me more trouble than it's worth and the 7600 never let me down. That is one reason I want to keep it going. Another is I print film  negatives
for sandcarving and this printer has produce the best results out all the printers I have tried. Last but not least, covid has hit hard and there is no budget this year for a new printer that would not get used enough to keep from getting head clogs.

So again, any help would be  greatly appreciated.

The advise I have seen is to download the XP driver and install it in compatibility mode.  I don't know anyone personally who has ever gotten that running correctly.  And later versions of Windows 10 may not even allow you to install a driver that is not digitally signed.  I found this thread on the topic:

Thanks for the input.

Yes, I have turned off the signing requirements and tried the vista and xp drivers with no luck.

I know with my vinyl cutter some rips offer compatibility. I wonder if a RIP would work or maybe my printer should just RIP??

Right now I have to save down a version in my design program as the latest version will not work with win 7 so I save down, transfer to the old computer and print. Not ideal by any means.

if the 9900 didn't have so many issues I would just get rid of the 7600.

I had the same problem. Been running windows 7 with epson stylus pro 7600 for years. Computer died and new machine is Win 10. I nearly gave up but this morning I have a working windows 10 machine communicating very happily with my ancient 7600. Just did a nozzle check via the driver and a test graphic via Qimage.

My 7600 is connected directly to a USB port on my computer.

My windows version is Win 10 pro and if it helps the OS build is 19042.1526.

The driver I am using is the XP 64 driver from the epson website (v5.5e)
After unzipping the driver package, I found the SETUP application file located in the setup folder. Right click on this file, select "properties" and then select the "compatibility tab" .
In the compatibility tab tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select "Windows XP (service pack 2)". I also ticked the "Run this program as an administrator",  click apply and then click OK.

Running the setup program at this point will not work.  Believe me I tried.  It looks like its working and installs 2 completely useless icons in the devices and printers window.

First you need to turn off printer signing enforcement. I did this using the one time "Advanced Boot Menu" method described here:

Having done that I made sure the printer was connected but not turned on.

I then ran the setup application (as administrator just to be sure!).

Choose whether you want to install a 7600 or 9600

I then received a message that the driver was not signed and chose the option to install anyway.
(This repeated once, possibly twice memory fails me, sorry!)

There is then a prompt to plug in and switch on the printer and after a short while (I thought it was going to be yet another fail!) you should have a working printer driver installed and the printer connected.

Seriously, I was at the point of wondering whether I should scrap windows 10 and hope I could wrestle win 7 onto the new machine or completely scrap the 7600.

Just wanted to thank you for stopping by and outlining the solution!  I'm sure it will help others who have held on to their 7600.  I still have mine!  It doesn't work (eternally clogged and in the garage now)... but I have it.  :)

Re your clogged 7600, mine was in a similar condition when I bought it (for very little ££) about 5 years ago. Poor thing was mouldering in a cold garage and hadn't seen the light of day for a very long time. One or two of the ink tubes were completely blocked. Unhooked these from the print head end, adapted an old cartridge so that I could push warm water through the blocked tubes using a syringe. A new set of refillable ink carts and ink from Colourbest, some magic bullet on the docking station for a few hours followed by a couple of power cleans and perfect printing..all nozzles clear.
Has been working fine ever since...(touching wood frantically)
Like I said, great machines.
