Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help - I'll probably feel rather silly afterwards, but hey!

I've attached a screenshot below of the paper options Qimage is giving me for roll media - drivers for the printer have been installed correctly etc, but I'm not being given the option to select thet correct size, ie. 42 / 36 / 24inch!

Anyone one here know what I've forgotten in my infinite wisdom  Cheesy Cheesy or incorrectly set up?

Open Properties in the driver and select roll paper under Paper Source ROLL
Then click the CUSTOM button Select the size, both width of the roll and length of the page for the print size.
This is from the Z 3100, but should be similar.
See my snaps

but was unsure if Qimage should have loaded the papers from the HP driver.

ie. with custom page sizes, if the roll is set up to be say 30 metres, and the print area is only 5 metres long - will the printer push out the rest of the roll once printing is over?

Excuse my questions - I'm new to Qimage!

Thanks!

No problem trying to help.
There's Right click menu item off of the Right click preview screen, upper right area of main screen. Right click on the big preview picture.
Select, "Remove White space at bottom of the page. See screen snap.
This works on most all printers, but no guarantee on some of the HP drivers, so I suggest you make your page 6 inches longer than the print, invoke that command in Qimage, and see if the driver will cut the paper off at 1" beyond the print or 6" beyond the print.
Most Epson printers have a paper save mode.... I don't see one on the HP Z 3100, but yours may have a setting in the driver for that.

Thank-you!

"Remove white space option" does not seem to work with the HPZ6100, looks like I'll have to create a new manual page sizes for each print, as they is no option within the driver to conserve paper (not that i can see!)

Thankyou for your help!

In case you are unaware, you can save your pages in Qimage easily. have everything ready to print. Page size, print size, printer profile, driver settings, everything....
Then click Save in the File menu.  Select the "P" button for printer. Name the setup: 30 x 50, and SAVE.
Make another with page size 44 x 90, and Save... as many as you like, and more of the same with different paper if you change papers.

When ready to print a 44 x90, (for example) simply click File, Recall, P button, and select the named 44 x 90 and Open.
Ready to print, all setting as they were when you made the save.
