Hi, Is there a Video/DVD tutorial on how to use Profile Prism please?
I have searched online and at youtube but cannot see one.
I'm like one of those judges on that TV program 'The Voice' always hovering over the button (in this case to buy it) but still not sure. One of those people who read how to do it and then forget but see it in action and understand it.

Perhaps, this will help.

I can make a video for you showing how I recently made a profile for HP Advanced Glossy paper to be used by a Canon P-100 printer and OEM ink.

Before you buy Profile Prism, (PP), you will need a decent scanner.... not an expensive scanner, but one that allows color correction to be turned off, or allow RAW scans, or a cold light scanner like a Canon LIDE.

We, many of us, years ago, when we used Profile Prism a lot, bought PP and tried it. If the results were poor, we knew we needed a better / proper scanner. I bought a Canon LIDE scanner for 79.00 and I was off and running.
Terry bought a different one, I think also LIDE type, and he was off and running.
Latest scanner which is perfect for the PP scan, is my Epson Work Force 3640.

That seems to be the stumbling block for some. There is no list of scanners that work properly that I know of.
Maybe some PP users can chime in here and advise what they use with success.

First, let me say, Each printer is totally separate. You do each one as if you had only one.

Since we do each printer as if it was your only one, then we only need one target

After you print the Target40.tif (using the set up in Qimage for target printing job, and it dries thoroughly, you trim it, and place both targets, IT8 and the Target40 on the glass at the same time.
It is a learning process.

Attention to detail on all your settings is primary. Next a scan within parameters... and the rest is easy.

I have the Canon Lide 110.  believe the 120 superseded it.
The 220 has a higher scan resolution and is faster than the 120 but the 120 is perfectly adequate for PP.

Hi. On having an email chat with Terry (and very helpfull he has been) he advises that the Canoscan software that came with the scanner (Scangear) option is now the way to go rather than spending more money to upgrade the VueScan basic software I already have but I have a couple questions (AGAIN!!) The instructions to use Profile Prism say to cover the target/s with black backing paper to shield from the white of the scanner under cover, would a piece of thin black cardboard from an old photo holder do the trick? a bit thicker than backing paper.
I don't have the target yet and have been trying to setup within scangear an option to have a user defined so that when the target arrives and I want to calibrate for differant papers I don't have to keep inputting the numbers as shown in the attached image but every time I set it  up and save it after the scan if I re-start scangear the the numbers have reverted back to standard.

Honest injun, Profile Prism software is not complicated at all.
I can and will make you an easy video of me making a profile.

The complicated and tricky part is the scanner choice and the use of the Twain driver or Vuescan.
Since Terry has the same software, he really should be the one to guide you through that.
He is a busy guy compared to me.  I just sit on the porch watching all the girls walk by.
Nevertheless, I can guide you through that using my Epson driver software, and you will see the operation and perhaps focus the principles into your Canon or Vuescan software.
That black paper routine is optional.... I don't use that.
