Title: Profiling Canon Dye Sub Printers
Post by: jeffreyk on July 15, 2009, 10:14:39 AM
Did any fellow users managed to profile Canon 4R Dye Sub printers? I have tried but the results are horrible :'(

Can you define horrible?  What kind of messages did you get when profiling?  Did you get a lot of X's?  What does horrible mean: bad color?  Banding?

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry for the late reply, Mike.

I did get a few x, but i believe not enough to affect the results. However, the colours from the results I've got is totally off. It might be due to the printer target being smaller than 7.92 x 5.77 in. As Canon Selphy is only a 4R printer, I've no way of getting the target big enough.

I've successfully profiled 4x6 papers, so I'm not sure that's the problem.  What does PP report as the dynamic range and gamut coverage?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I did this profiling some months back. I will do a re-profile & get back.
