Hello,

I have been using Cathy's Profiles for several years.  I am interesed in switching to Profile Prism.  Do I need a high end scanner?

I currently have a HP OfficeJet 7300xi All-in-One.  Will this work?  Will I get a high quality profile?

Thanks
Joe

This is a very subjective question; since as you see by your question, each scanner can output different results.

So the right answer is to wait for someone who uses the same scanner as yours, and get a proper report.

I know that answer sounds like watered down soup, but that's the honest answer.

From other sources and PP help, the Canon Lide scanners do a very good job. I don't think they are "high end" and are not expensive, so the answer to you question could well be no.

I think the scanning software can have a big influence on results.
Have a look at the online help for PP www.ddisoftware.com/prism/help/scanner.htm
That'll give you clue about setting HP scanners and enable you to compare your scanner software with what is said there.
But as Fred says, it's a case waiting to see if anyone is using that scanner with PP.

If you are in the scanner market forquality, watch the Epson web sit for refurb scanners.  You can get a middle to top piece for $100 or less.
