Thanks for the tip!

So I think my problem was the result of not looking at which page was actually printing. It seems that its easy (for me) to change something and not realize that another page was added resulting in me not printing the correct page. I've made it a habit to look at the page numbers at the bottom to make sure I've removed any pages that I don't want printed.  Roll Eyes

I'll have to wait until it happens again to see if I screwed up somewhere or what.

The problem is if you starting playing with the output sizes there can be a glitch where either qimage is not sending the new output settings to the printer driver or the printer driver won't accept it, i don't know.
Please explain in detail.
Playing with output sizes.....
What size print desired; crop on or off, with border or without, and border made using borders or mat type?

When you do what, you get a wrong response?
Fred

Detail. Say you have a print set up how you want and print. All goes good.  Then with that print job still active you change the print size or you change a boarder or maybe fit to paper or fit to page. Now in Qimage it looks correct on screen, and the image size shown when you hover over the image with your mouse is also correct. So now you print and the print comes out in the previous size, not the size you just changed too.

Yes, printing to paper. I printed an 8.5 x 11 test image first, setting this up the normal way through the printers and settings tab.  After that successful print I selected a 17x22 paper size in the qimage media size drop down in order to print my final print.  The image then changes to the correct size as displayed in the image display area of qimage, and if I hover over with my mouse it shows the correct image size of 21.30 x 14.53 including boarder which is currently set at inner 0.25. There's no issue with that size, it will print correctly.  The problem is if you starting playing with the output sizes there can be a glitch where either qimage is not sending the new output settings to the printer driver or the printer driver won't accept it, i don't know.

This is nothing I am setting incorrectly in qimage, I know how to make a print having used this software for many years. There'a a glitch when you start playing with the output settings in qimage. As you can see above, I'm not the only person this has happened too. My current setup is Windows 10, Qimage 2018.121 and an Epson 3880 however this issue has been happening for years.  Hope that helps.

I haven't been able to reproduce this so let's call it a glitch for now  Roll Eyes
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Photoshop export issue on: December 25, 2017, 07:09:27 PM
I've used this in the past with the same version of photoshop without issue, (CS6). As you can see below, when I export via photoshop "file/automate/Qimage Ultimate" the image is corrupted.  Opening the same image via QI and it's fine.

I have Photoline, if you can use Qimage you can use Photoline... There's also Affiniti photo which is very good. I dumped Adobe's subscription model and now use CS6 which is not part of the subscription model and Imatch for my database.

About a month ago Ernst Dinkla mentioned a German prog "PhotoLIne"

Thought I would give it a trial.

Cannot make head not tails of it, the instructions and Videos are no help.

Not in the same league as Qimage videos.  Decided I do not have enough time left to persevere with it and will have to stick with my old Elements 7 for the few things I cannot do in QI

Sorry Ernst

Issue is now gone with v119.  It was there with v118, didn't think to check it before I upgraded to v119 but it's gone.

Thanks!

I did some research based on a clue that you posted above: where it starts working if you create a new folder.  The only extra code that runs when you create a new folder is a folder refresh so I set it to refresh the folder tree as soon as you open the browse dialog.  Maybe that will fix it for you (when 117 comes out).  But even in the off chance that does fix it, it's a workaround for something going on with your PC.  I don't think the problem lies in what folder you choose or what you do while browsing folders.  It sounds like there is a folder somewhere in the tree where Windows is unable to parse the folder tree and returns an error.  This should never happen even if the folder is hidden or you have no rights to it: in those cases, the folder just doesn't appear in the tree.

So theoretically, it could be any folder anywhere in the tree: the dialog has to build the tree.  At some point, it reaches a folder that should be accessible, it tries to open that folder to build out the subfolders in that branch, and Windows returns an error that it can't open the folder.  I think that's what is happening.  Could be some sort of anti-malware denying it, a bad sector on the HD, etc.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks. v117 didn't fix it and I can't find anything weird about my folders. I'm sure eventually I find something...

Just did a test installation on my Mac's VM and although painfully slow QU didn't reproduce this error. Maybe I'll try and uninstall QU on my PC instead of the upgrade over existing and try again. I would hate to blow out my PC and reinstall everything. I build my own machines and this one has ran beautifully without any issues for a couple of years and it's such a pain in the ass to reinstall everything.

Once again I've tried to repeat your problem and cannot. I successfully created new a folder and saved a job to it and retrieved again.
However, why are you trying to create a different folder to save jobs to - why not the standard QU Save folder?
Terry
If I don't create a new folder then I can't do anything. Without creating a new folder I can browse to the standard QU save folder, but if I press OK I get an I/O error. The only way I can work around the problem is to create a new folder somewhere via this file browser then I can browse anywhere and find what I'm looking for and successfully click ok. I understand this is weird, I don't have this error with any other application.
15  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Can't back out of Recall, browse folders on: January 25, 2017, 04:00:12 AM
I can create a new folder from within the dialog box by adding for example \test as directed by the text in green. As you can see in my screen shot I did it twice... \test\test.  Once I have added a new folder then I can select it or any other folder like normal. I can even close the dialog and go back to it and it works normally until I close qimage then if I go back to browse folders I am back to the I/O error. I have full permissions on the c: drive, I'm the only user on this machine and I am the admin.

I've tried to browse to other folders, even a network drive and I get the same I/O error. Even if I just open the browse folders dialog and don't select anything I can't even click on cancel or X to back out.
