Is anybody using albums?
I am trying for the first time to use these for a subject "sunrise/sunset" taken during our last vacation trip this summer.  I have been able to assign photos to the album, and I have been able to open the album to work on these files.  I can make adjustments on the files in the album just as if I am working on the files in their appropriate subdirectory.
However, if I try to use the "Preview/Add to Que" function to look at the photos in the album, and if I then attempt to assign ratings to those files, the program will apparently assign the rating but when I close out of the "Preview/Add to Que" the ratings do not show up!  Now I am guessing that it is not allowing this since the photos are from many subdirectories and you cannot override a previous rating.  But no previous ratings were used!  And I can make adjustments to these same files in the batch filter and those changes are accepted.
What might I be doing wrong?

Chuck,
Look at replies 6, 7 & 8 in http://ddisoftware.com/tech/qimage/v2009-268-issuescomments/
Looks like it might be the same bug.
As you'll see from the above, Mike is aware.

Thanks, Terry.  I hadn't read those responses.  It's good to know that I'm not doing something wrong, or that my system isn't doing right by QI !!

I can't find a way of adding all the contents of the queue to an album. Its often the case that having selected a bunch of images into the queue, I think, "those ought to be in an album", but then it is hard to go back and re-select them, especially if they came from different folders.

So if there isn't a way to do this that I have missed, could it be a feature request please Mike?

It might also be nice to be able to add to albums from the preview screen.

To add images to an album, just select the THUMBS of those you wish to add by holding the CTRL key and selecting the specific thumbs. Then right click and choose ADD to Albums.

As for the other request, it's sort of there already, although not obvious.
What I do is either select the thumbs that I wish to preview (P+)  and press P+, or sometimes, I do CTRL A and select all the thumbs, and then press P+.

Now, as I click NEXT, NEXT, NEXT through the thumbs, there's a small box at the bottom of that box that says SELECT THIS IMAGE.
If you check the ones that you want to include in the Move to an album, when you are finished evaluating, those thumbs will remain as Selected and a right mouse and ADD to Album works fine.

This should work for you.

I apologize. I must have read your post too fast and missed the line above.
Now I see what you really wanted, and that would be useful.

I assume it could be in the right-click menu for the queue and page preview.

I actually had a use for this yesterday when I had 10 images from different folders and wanted to apply them to different templates I was developing.
Save as a Layout was not suitable because that saves everything on the page including text, but using an Album would have been ideal once I had got the images in the queue.

I would like to second (or third) this request to add images from the queue into an album.

When I do a shoot I sometimes have two or three hundred shots to choose from to put together a preview for a client.

It would be easier to double click on the good shots and add them to the queue to be put in an album after.

I have had too many instances of forgetting to Ctrl click on an image and losing all my previous picks.

Thanks for a great program!

I agree this would be a useful feature.
Did you see Fred's suggestion in reply #4, it could be used for your situation:-
