Title: Copying and/or printing the "Print Que"
Post by: Chuck Tankersley on September 17, 2010, 11:18:14 AM
I would like to make a copy of the information from the "print que" at the bottom of the left hand page in QSE for comparison purposes with other "print ques".  I have saved several "Jobs" and have found that I have duplicates in many of them.  I am trying to develop a single "Portfolio" job that I can save and add to as I find other qualifying photos.
There is probably a simple way to do this, but I have been unable to discover it.
Thanks,
Chuck Tankersley

If I read the question correctly, what you want to use is the Make Album feature of Qimage.

Select your thumbnails that "qualifies" for the portfolio and Right Mouse click. Select ADD TO ALBUM.
Then click Make New Album. That's all there is to it. Select the Album by the name you gave it, and after RMB clicking on the next thumbnail, ADD TO ALBUM, use SELECT. You will find the images added to the album as you continue to ADD TO ALBUM.
That should do it.

Not quite what I had in mind.  In my situation, I have three "jobs" saved which have photos selected from 2001-2007, 2008-2009, and 2010.  When I recall each job, the "print que" is filled with all my selections (from several different folder locations).  I cannot append "job 2" to "job 1" since when you recall a new job, the print que for the one before is cleared.  I have approximately 100 photos in the three saved "jobs" that I want to list together.  While I could do it one at a time with the RMB, it is very time consuming; however if that is the only way to do it, so be it!  I'm just looking for an easier way.

Hi Chuck,
This is what I suggest.
Load job 1 and then save as a "Session"
Do the same for job 2 and job 3.
Now, recall Session 1, the session 2 and say yes to "Append". Do the same for job 3.
Then you will have all 3 sets of images in the queue.
Saving Sessions is more flexible than jobs in that you can then decide what print setting you want to use as well as combine several.

Makes me think of a possible new feature though.  If you had "Add to Album" from the preview page/queue as you do from the thumbs, you could just open each job one at a time, select all prints (images in the queue) and then just right click on the preview page to "Add to Album" and pick an album.  Repeat for other jobs and pick the same album.  As you keep adding to the same album, duplicates are ignored and at the end, you'd have an album that contains your portfolio from all the jobs... without duplicates.

Would that feature be useful?

Regards,
Mike

Terry, thanks for the "Session" idea.  That'll probably work.
Mike, your idea for the RMB on the Preview page is exactly what I was trying to get to work.  Yes, it would help immensely!
Thanks,
Chuck
