For Photographers doing hi-end adjustments, LAB is really essential for some operations. Having to convert to RGB before bringing into Qimage, and then convert in Qimage to the printer profile, is both a waste of time, as well as destructive to the image. It doesn't seem to me that it could be that hard to do, but maybe I'm wrong.

Is there a reason LAB is not supported?
