Hello,

I'ld like to ask an advice from anybody who knows - how to print test targets from Qimage ?
I mean - what is the necessary options in:
1. "Qimage-Edit-Prefrences-Color Management-Images (input)" - what profiles must be there and what must be enabled/disabled ?
(as for Printer profile (output) - I do know that it must be disabled)
2. Is it necessary to delete ALL assigned printer profiles from "Color Management" ?

Maybe there are more specifical option and conditions - I would appreciate any answer andadvice....

Easy one!

It is all done for you as a preset JOB.
1) Click File in Qimage.   Select RECALL, 
2) Click the "J" button toward the bottom of the recall box. That selects the saved jobs.
3) Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select Printer Target Setup JOB.
4) Click OPEN at the bottom right.

That's it.
Add your target image. It will come into the preview screen in original size all ready to print.
Naturally, you have to tell the printer driver what kind of paper you are using to print the target, plus all the other settings like No Color Adjustment and highest quality etc.

1 thing I'ld like to clarify - there is - http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/qimagehlp/icc.htm the next advice:
Disconnect any and all instances of color management that Windows handles for you. We recommend looking under "Start", "Settings", "Printers" and on your printers "Properties", "Color Management" tab, make sure there are NO ICC profiles in there.

What about it ?   Is it obligatorily ?

It is obligatory to have this paragraph read before making/using your own profiles. The main reason is to warn users that their printer drivers must be *free* of any embedded profiles or pointing at profiles.
A cross section of the world is involved in making their own, and some people have settings in their drivers that are wrong for profile making.
If you have never messed with your printer driver, then you can ignore that paragraph.

In other words - if I have installed, say, Epson printer drivers and some other working well drivers made with profiling software, then can I leave them alone and don't delete them before printing targets from Qimage ?
Is it right ?

Whoa! Now you will have to excuse me!
You are implying that you have drivers but no printer?
You must print the target from the printer that you are profiling.  Set the driver to No Color Adjustment (Canon says NONE)
How can you make a printer profile for a driver only??
If you have an Epson attached to the computer and it will print, then print the target image supplied.

Please excuse me - I've wrote "drivers" instead of "profiles" !

Of course I'm trying to make a profile for an attached printer on the same PC.
One thing that make me doubt - that I've some profiles installed already. And I'ld like to know - must I delete installed profiles before printing target image ?

Whew!!   You had me nervous!!
Ok. Let me say it this way.
Stop worrying so much!
Once you follow the instructions to LOAD the Target Printing JOB as outlined in the earlier post. Qimage will turn off any profile that you left on in the printer profile box.
It does this automatically!!
You just pay attention to the driver settings.   Set the Driver to No Color Adjustment, the correct paper selected, Quality to BEST PHOTO.  (For Epsons),
Then print the target.

May I ask some more questions ?
In Qimage after choosing "Printer Target Setup JOB" in Color Management options page "Perceptual" choice is marked.
Does target printing depends on it ? And it must only "Perceptual" ?
What if the target'll be printed with other choice, for example "Realtive Colorimetric" -  the result profile'll be distorted ?
I'm asking about it'cause printing foto really depends on this choice

This is irrelevant to printing a target. In the Job Properties, Printer icc will say "OFF" so rendering intent is off too.
See attached screen shot.
A rendering intent applies during the conversion process from one icc colour space to another. When printing a target you are deliberately not converting anything.

When you have a printer profile set up to print "real" images, then you can choose the rendering intent, Perceptual and Relative Colormetric are the ones commonly  used for photography.
Some profiles do suggest a particular rendering intent but I don't see why that should be a fixed option.
