Title: Search: Export Plugin or script: Send image from Photoshop CS4 to Qimage
Post by: GlossyBlacky on September 02, 2009, 06:51:22 AM
Hello,
i want to send a image via interface PSCS4/Qimage directly from Photoshop to Qimage. Does someone know an export plugin or a Photoshop CS4 script, which makes this possible?

Thanks for help

This is already built into Qimage.
Open Qimage, click Utilities, select File Manager, Photo Editor setup.
Put your Photoshop exe file in there for the editor Something like (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS4\Photoshop.exe)
You get it by browsing for the correct file.

To use this interface-interaction, simply right click on the selected thumbnail (s), and select Send to Photo Editor.
CS4 will open properly, do your work, and after a save, close CS4, and Qimage will reappear with an OK box to be clicked.
Click that. All it really does is refresh the thumbnails so your newly saved PSD or Tif etc will be there.

Let us know if you need more.

Thanks for the Anwort. I mean however the reverse way.
Editing of a image in Photoshop.
Then send at Qimage (without the tour of saving on a place on hd) for printing.

Sorry, but Qimage is not a Photo Shop plug in. It still stands as the best printing software you can get, and believe me and thousands of others using Photo Shop etc, it is well worth that extra save in PS to achieve the best prints.

Best of luck

GB-
Though I have done it many times AFTER the PS edit, I don't recommend it on a full edit with a large file.  You can run into memory issues/lock-ups, at least on 32-bit Core-2 with 4GB.

While in QI, if I need to tweak something that QI cannot do on a PSD (flattened) or JPG, I pop it into PS, fix it, close PS then F5 the QI thumb screen to make sure it has picked off the change.  (QI WILL open PSDs that still have embedded layers.)  Since these are no longer 300-550MB files (open) it works fine.

Also, you must Optimize Compatibilty on PSD or QI may not work on those files.

If you're using CS4 and Bridge, you can drag Bridge thumbnails directly into Qimage or even drop them into the QI icon.
You can even set up a shortcut to Qimage to link to different printer profiles.  I have an icon for my favourite printer and parer sizes - I simply drag the Bridge thumbnail(s) onto the appriate icon - works great!
