Chinese Floating Text?
«

I can't add Chinese floating text. The Chinese characters appear in the text box, but the preview above it shows
?? and when I add the text to the page I only see question marks. I can add Chinese text to prints using Photoshop without any problem. I'm sure I have something set up wrong.. Any ideas?

What font are you using? Qimage doesn't support unicode text so unless you have some non-unicode form of Chinese font, it's not going to work.

Mike,
I really don't have any idea what I'm using. Will try to figure it out.
I hope someone who has Chinese working will reply. This project is for my wife so I really need to succeed
Thanks for the reply. Bob

If you look at the font in the windows folder, it tells you what type it is.
Open this folder, C:\Windows\Fonts and double click the font you are trying to use and it tells you the type top left of the font description.

The Chinese fonts are "true type". They don't indicate whether they are unicode or non-unicode. I assume they are unicode since they don't work. I'll try to find non-unicode Chinese fonts to download. Thanks,

I haven't been able to set up non-unicode Chinese fonts, but have a satisfactory work around to complete my project. Will do Chinese characters in Photoshop on a blank background, save as tiff files, and then add these to photo pages using Qimage. I can then re-size and position the text where I want it. Really not much of a problem.
Thanks for your help. Bob
