This should be fun, and a challenge to your eye and your color coordination.

Opinions/Help  from wives, daughters, or grand daughters is permitted, and welcomed!

The challenge is easy!
Select a proper color for your mat (border) from the colors within the shot/image!!!
Use the eye dropper in the Mat screen to make your selection, and then use EDIT MAT to make changes.

If you look closely, you can see, in Terry's sample, the lower two actually have three colors selected from the image.

Hi Vlady,
There are two ways to save your creation.
By the way, that is a very pretty image with the borders enhancing the effect!

1) Simple way: Save the JOB... Click File, Save, click the "J" button to make sure you are in the Job mode, Name it, and SAVE.
This is easy and wonderful for printing and recovering your work to print again.

2) This method is more permanent.   Print to FILE.
Click the FILE menu, or the Cheater Menu and invoke Print to FILE.
Answer the questions, page size, color space, and Do not change size.
Then go to the print button and print as if it was paper.
If you leave the RIP box unchecked, you get the full page as it looked on the preview panel.
If you check the RIP box, then the image is RIPPED off the page including the borders.

See attached snaps and you can see the difference.
The first one is the preview panel.  105 is the RIP box checked, and 106 is unchecked.

I'm still puzzled how I was lucky once and got a jpg.

Thanks for the comments on the photo.   It was taken in a "cultural restaurant" in Siem Reap, Cambodia, when visiting Ankgor Wat.

Fred & Terry, this is my first attempt to post a photo.
This is one of my favourtite shots of an everglade resident here in South East Queensland Australia.
The Photo Mat feature really adds to the print.
Keep up the good work on a great program.

I've continued to experiment and learn more about matting with QI.  However, I wonder if I'm still doing something wrong.

I have a problem of placing an image on the template.  Here is my procedure:
1) check that I have free-style
2) click on template and then drag it over free style
3) go to image and drag it to the template.

It can take 7 or more drags of image to template before the image actually pops in.
I do clear queue and start the sequence over each time.

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  Struggling with this for a couple of days.

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi again Vlady,
It has occurred to me to ask what are you trying to do with templates?
If you are continuing to use that method to make uneven borders, then you need to know it has been superseded and improved.

All you need to do is add the image to the queue, right click on preview or page editor and use the "Photo Mats" menu item.
