Title: CHALLENGE 4: Make a “Book” page with multiple borders & text. Post by: Terry-M on March 04, 2013, 12:29:40 PM Make a print (print to file to show) where:
1. the image has at least 1 border adjacent 2. is surrounded by another border that is asymmetrical so there is extra space for text at the bottom 3. has a coloured border around the edge of the page. See attached image with 2 borders adjacent to image, a white border that is not equal in width around the image and then a border at the edge of the page. An optional extra is to use colours picked from the image. Terry Title: Re: CHALLENGE 4: Make a “Book” page with multiple borders & text. Quote How did you do it? First a clue before I give the full sequence of operations. ;)There are 2 images on the page, one is white; freehand mode essential. Shall have to return to challenge later. SWMBO says we are out today. Jeff Title: Re: CHALLENGE 4: Make a “Book” page with multiple borders & text. Post by: Lurcherjohn on March 07, 2013, 03:31:41 PM Thanks for the clues Terry.
I decided to go overboard with the margins, it got rather complicated to do. John. Title: Re: CHALLENGE 4: Make a “Book” page with multiple borders & text. Post by: Fred A on March 07, 2013, 05:44:20 PM EXCELLENT!
Now where did I put my sunglasses? Really, you got it! Fred Title: Re: CHALLENGE 4: Make a “Book” page with multiple borders & text. Post by: Terry-M on March 10, 2013, 03:15:41 PM If you are still struggling, here is the process I adopted.
You do need an image with an all-over plain colour or texture, this becomes background and the wide border, white on my image. Set the page size and orientation. Place this plain image in the queue sized "fit to page" with the crop scissors on. Set the page to Freehand mode with the 'F' icon on the preview. Make sure nothing is selected in the thumbs and page preview. Open Print Properties with a 2 second right click. Set the print size for the main image. Drag the main image to the page preview and position approximately. Open the page editor and use the Size/Position tab to set the position accurately; enter the dimensions to the page edge directly for the best accuracy. You may need to use right click and "send to back" on the background image. Select the background image and create border(s). Select the main image and create border(s) Create text and position it. Done :D Terry |
