Put a little life back in old photos

Many times, you find an old snap shot or wedding photo, or grandma shot from years ago, that is from the black and white era.
You scan it, take out the cracks and creases and: Not bad.!

But if you add a tinge of color to the image, maybe a sepia or any shade really, it seems to pump some life back into the prints.

Due to limitations of attachment size, I have to split the examples into two posts.

You can see the B&W original and adding a little color to the images.
You do this by mixing the three colors, Red Green and Blue, manually, so you control the hue and color density.

Continued in next post.

OK Here's where to get started and the rest is up to you....

1)   Place the black and white image into the queue
2)   Go into the Image editor and in the upper right area, select the SELECT COLOR tab.
3)   See screen snap 089, and that we are dealing with the Neutral channel
4)   Just like a cooking a fine recipe, a pinch of red. A dash of Blue. A drizzle of Green.
All makes a big difference, so start with small numbers.

Perhaps you have a scenic shot of a country meadow. Emphasize the green a bit more.
Perhaps you have an old water scene. Emphasize the blue a bit more.

Have fun!  Enjoy!
