Here is the how-to video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzU3WuAEPmw&feature=em-upload_owner
Please click on FULL SCREEN for HD1080P video

Or in words:

1. In Flickr, click on a thumb to get the image with the data etc.
2. Right click on image to get a menu.
3. Select "Page Source".
4. A new window opens, scroll down a little way past the mass of green text that is the Flickr logo.
5. Look for a row (76) that says "Meta property" and has a URL that looks like -
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/315/18978196953_7356310c0d_b.jpg It must have a .jpg on the end.
6. Copy it.
7. In the forum post, select the "Insert Image" icon and paste at the cursor .

Other web sites may be different when you right click, see attached screen shots for Pbase.
Whatever, the principal is the same, look for a URL that ends with .jpg

Now, prove you can do it with a favourite image from your photo hosting web site  Cool

Hello

The link I have to one of my web images is

If I put that link into browser up comes the image. But link does not seem to work in this forum, ok it does not end with .jpg

I will return to subject later

Good morning Jeff,
Works perfectly here. (To the main screen)

See screen snapper.
That long thing that isn't a jpg, just gets me a 404 in my browser.
Didn't know until today that you were an NBQ
Does your wife know?

As usual, your pictures are wonderful.

Hi Jeff,
I does look like it's not always necessary have to end in .jpg  Roll Eyes

However you posted a link to your image and not the web site image information.
I went to your gallery, see screen shot below, and right clicked and selected Image info (as per my instructions!) and the correct row was was automatically highlighted ready to copy.
This is the row:
http://static.wixstatic.com/media/22c900_5dd106517e24472dafec488e60c92c05.jpg_srb_p_941_683_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb
Here it is using Insert Image in the post.

Whoops, not the same image, hopefully you get the idea now.
This one of booze.

Thank you both.

Had another quick look and whilst I cannot get a screen like your SCR000027.jpg If I right click image and select "copy url" that seems to be the link.

Funny you chose the Boozy ones as an illustration.

They were taken using your Aperture Priority and auto iso etc etc seems to work well in difficult lighting situations.

Again, I will return to subject when more time, SWMBO got me running round like a BAF this week.

Terry

I have now found time at last to return to this subject.

It seems to be browser specific.

My default browser is Google Chrome and I cannot get to the correct link, right click, left click, stand on my head and whistle all no result.

Switch to Firefox and right click and there is the option "copy image location" bingo

I reckon you are on Firefox.

I am sure I have used this function to post images in the past, could have been to Google Blog Spot.  I found that if I sent the images to Google for the Blog they went into their Picasa store and were then available to anybody world wide.  If I posted to the blog via a link in my Zenfolio web space they did not go into Googles image store.

In Chrome, right click and choose Inspect Element. The correct link is there about 2/3rds of the way down the list  of but it's tricky to find and would be a matter of trial and error until you got used to it.
It seems my challenge is more involved than I first thought, Chrome is definitely difficult, with Flickr too.  Sad

Hello Terry

I did try that in Chrome but it was obviously to difficult for me, I could not find the line.

Any way it's a useful feature and thanks for drawing attention to it.
