How can I (if possible) mimic something similar to the Adobe Lightroom 'clarity' tool in QI - in order to give my images some extra punch and impact? It is all is Qimage. I took a look at an image in PS using Clarity, and what I did to emulate is easy and came out better. I simply went into the editor and clicked on the SEL COLOR tab. Then Clicked on the globe icon and OK. Then to the ADJUST tab, and set the DFS sharpening to radius 12 and Strength 60. I ok that too. 063 is finished one 064 is before adjustment. 065 is image in PS ACR with Clarity at default, center slider. 066 is Clarity full on and some exposure correction added too Hope that helps Fred Title: Re: 'Clarity' Post by: tonygamble on October 15, 2014, 08:19:20 PM Just typing whilst Fred was doing likewise.
Look at Mike's filter 'Lens Cleaner'. I think that is the one that he created when this question was first raised. But maybe Fred has a better memory than mine. And his solution was pretty similar since that colour correction facility was not around at the time - and now is. That was placed there in response to a slider called "Clarifier" years ago. That's all that clarifier did years ago. Quote That is the the large radius, low percentage DFS that Fred mentioned. Terry Terry is right on target too. You can see that the "Clarity" slider also incorporates some color boost in it. The point is that no two images are exactly alike, and it's extra nice to be able to adjust the sharpening as needed by the image, and adjust the amount of color boost (different for each color) as needed by the image!! Qimage actually reads the color intensity of each color before it applies any boost so no color will be "blown" from a boost. ... to carry this a step further, Look at the screen snaps of the control you get with Qimage. 067 is a shot of a lady in the park just before sunrise. 068 applies Smart Color 069 (see white arrow) shows you where you can raise or lower the brightness of the colors; all colors at the same rate, or use the smaller arrows to adjust individual colors.
