This week I reluctantly parted company with my Epson R3000; it was still working fine but Epson stopped making the ink and I really did not want to deal with third party inks.  After much deliberation, purchased the Epson p700. The media manager installed a gazillion paper profiles and media settings. Fine.  But it automatically sets the driver to "Let printer driver manage color".  For my first test print, I simply recalled one of my old R3000 print jobs, changed the printer, and the paper profile.  Thank you QU Copilot! Quickly saved me from double profiling  (and apparently corrected a couple of other things) and the first print out was perfect. One thing I don't like about the Epson media manager; they don't identify which papers are using the Pk and which are using the Mk (it's apparent for some  based on the paper type)

Which brings me to my question.  When I run the unclog jobs, can I assume that both the Pk and the Mk nozzles are active?  The checkbox just says Black/Gray.

In any case, big Kudos to QU for making the new printer transition so easy.  I was really dreading it.

Glad you found the QU process helpful!

On the MK and PK ink, the unclog won't use both because that is dependent on the media type you have selected in the driver.  So the recommendation is to print one half page unclog pattern with the driver settings on a matte paper and another one with a glossy media type selected.  That way the matte unclog job will use the MK ink and the glossy job will use the PK ink.  Or you could just check only the black/gray box for the second one since you don't really need to print the colors twice.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike - that makes sense.
