Title: .am1x files
Post by: sync007 on February 25, 2022, 07:21:03 PM
Hi Mike I have a Canon P2100 and for example Canson Papers have this .am1x file which I loaded into the printer and it shows up under custom papers which is good. Should I be seeing this on Qimage as well under Media Type?

Its ok I figured it out I had to update the media information file in the driver too using Canons process

One more question perhaps I dont understand this but now that I have the 3rd party media type on the printer display and showing in the canon driver, when I  start Qimage  I select the 3rd party media type however it appears that I still need to set the icc profile for that media type, as I understand it the am1x file contains all details including the icc profile?

I am correct that when I select the 3rd party media type in qimage that the icc profile should automatically appear and I should not have to go get it?

You are talking about things that happen inside the driver.  So there is an ICC profile in the driver associated with that paper type but in order for it to be used automatically, you have to set Qimage's printer profile to "Let printer/driver manage color".  If you want to use the profile directly (which is recommended), you would select the profile you want in the printer profile parameter in Qimage and the driver will automatically switch to "None" for color management.
