Hi, I have just installed Version 2019.113 on my Windows 10 computer. When I start the following message : see attached screen capture. Roughly translated it says :
Location not available C:\Users\claude\Application Data is not accesible Access denied.
When I click OK on this message, QIU opens and all seems OK. Is all OK ?

When you install Qimage Ultimate, it prompts you for the location (folder) for application data. The default is typically \programdata\ddisoftware\qimage. Did you change that: that is, pick another location? If so, make sure that location is readable/writable by everyone. If not, just reinstall and pick a different location (one that is globally accessible) when it prompts you for the application data location.

Thanks for your quick reply,
I have never used any other application data folder than the default one.
I reinstalled Qimage but I still get the same message that stalls the statup of QI until I click OK. I made this folder available to eveyone but this did not change anything.
To make sure that QI saves to the correct application data folder, I saved a job and did find it in the expected folder.
Any suggestion as to how I could get rid of this annoying message ? Thanks, Claude

Hi Claude,
Have you tried the menu-option; Utilities - > Migrate/Copy Application Data .... and pick/create a folder of your choice?

Try Martin's suggestion. The only time I've seen anything similar is when the software is installed under an admin account and then when you actually use it after the installation, you use it on a different (non admin) account. This can cause files/folders to be created by admin that cannot be accessed by the limited user unless you start Qimage using "Run as administrator".

Hi again,
Thank you Martin for your suggestion. Here is what I tried.
First I tried running QI as Administrator. Still got the message.
Then I tried migrating the data to a new folder. When asked if I wanted to use this new folder I answered no. When I restarted the program I still got the error message.
So now I have two questions :
1 - Can I erase this new folder (39,7 Gig) directly from the windows explorer ?
2 - If I answer yes to the question about using this new folder, will I be able to go back to the default folder that I have been using since the beginning.
Finally, I've discovered that there there seems to be a copy of both the default and new folder in C:\users\all users\

If you answer no, it'll keep using the old folder. You'd have to answer yes to make it use the new folder to see if that fixes it. I guess it's also possible that some anti-malware program is blocking access. You could try disabling any anti-malware temporarily to see if that solves the problem and if so, add an exception for that folder in the anti-malware software.

The same way you changed it the first time: use the migrate option and enter the old folder as the "new" location. Mike

No, the error message does not concern the path of the application data. When I launch QI I get this error message "C:\Users\Claude\Application Data is not accesible" and QI won't start until I click OK in the error message window. What intrigues me is that this path, to my understanding, has nothing to do with QI. Am I making myself understood, English is not my mother tongue ? Claude

That is the expected value. I was trying to determine if one of your environment variables in Windows got corrupted but that doesn't appear to be the case. With that information, there is nothing in Qimage Ultimate that would try to open C:\Users\Claude\Application Data. The only way it could be accessing that location is if maybe you visited that folder at some point and it got stuck in the folder history. Look to the right of the current folder location in Qimage and click the +/- button (Add/Remove folders from history) and select "Clear History". Then close and reopen Qimage and see if you still get the error. At this point, that is the only thing I can think to try since there is no code in Qimage that would make it try to access C:\Users\Claude\Application Data.
