I'm running QU v2016.151, and I'm not sure why this is happening. Under Print Properties > Borders.

In the borders field, I would enter Borders [1], set it at 0.02. I would add one image, and adding the second image, the borders would keep resetting back to 0.00. I'd have to enter the borders each time I add a new image to the queue, this gets frustrating, it wasn't like this previously. Is it a problem with my setting or a bug?

THanks

Hi,
In which screen do you enter the 0.02 border? While in the queue, or the Page Editor screen?
Could you possibly give more information like print size, crop on or off, print placement setting so we can try to repeat what you are getting?
If you are adding the 0.02 border while in teh Page Editor screen, it will only apply to the selected print.
So far, I cannot repeat what you are getting.

Hi Fred,

I've attached an image/screenshot. I realise how this issue would come about.

1) I would set the border size of 0.02 (as shown in the image) by clicking on the 3 lines (circled in red)
2) Add an image (or several) and it works fine.
3) If i were to 'set image rotation' and change the image orientation of just one image, the border would reset back to zero.

I know the previous versions did not have this issue, been using Qimage for several years now.

Hi JL,
Try as I may, using the information supplied and the screen snap, I cannot reproduce this.

Let's go slowly, because sometimes, sequence is important.

I see, Optimal Placement...
I set that.
I go to the zebra button below the one you circles and I add a 0.09 red border to be able to see it.
Yours appears to be a while border on a white paper.. I can't see that.
I add a 5 x 7 print. It has the red border. see snap 066
I then rotate it. see 068
Snap 067 shows print properties initial setting, and 069 is same box after second 5 x 7 is added.
0.09 Red is still there.

Can you make a video of your sequence ?
Or can you take me step by step though what you do?
If you can make a video you van send it free using WE TRANSFER
My email is wathree.ssz@verizon.net

I even set up a Canon iPF 8300 driver with roll paper 24 inches wide and added images at Original Size as you show.
That doesn't tell me print size, on your setup, but it is as close as I can come to match.

Hi Fred,

Sorry it took a while. I've emailed you the video /screen capture.

As you can see, the sequence of events are as follows:

1) Changed border [1] to 0.02
2) Added 1st image (final image size with border is 10.04 x 7.04)
3) Added 2nd image (final image size with border is 10.04 x 7.04)
4) Rotated 2nd image
5) Added 3rd image, problem occurs - final image size with border is 10.00 x 7.00 instead of 10.04 x 7.04, and print properties border [1] is back at 0.0

Thanks again

Hi Fred,

I've also noticed it happening not only after image rotation.

1) Set the border properties to 0.02 (as shown in the video)
2) Add several of images, I've tried adding images of similar sizes, different sizes  (all the borders appear as should with the 0.02 border size)
3) Remove one of the images from the 'canvas' by clicking on the bottom right red remove icon
4) Tried adding any image - the border resets back to 0.

Thanks

Hi Jared...
Of course, I do not have your images as to exact size, but I have tried 20 times, following the video step by step. It still holds the .02 border.
I am going to turn this over to Mike. He should be able to repeat your video exactly/

Perhaps you can send me one vertical image and one horizontal image?
Then I can repeat exactly.
I have to set Original size to Override with 800 ppi to get images small enough.
How about you trying to use a suitable selected size ot specified size instead of Original? Let's see what happens.

Ok Jared,
I gave your video to Mike. HE CAN reproduce the .02 going to zero.
He sent me a video of what he did, and I still cannot do it here.
He doen't have time yet to get into the why it happens. He is busy with a new feature for Qimage Ultimate.
But the fact that he can make it happen  means he can fix it as soon as he gets time.
Hope that helps.
I want to know why you and he can lose the .02, and I cannot lose ti.
The video was a big help.

Hi Fred,

I realise what and when the issue would occur.

I tested it by using the default sizes on the print properties, selecting, for example 2x3 inches. I set the border to 0.02, did the image rotation, removed images and so on, worked perfectly fine, border properties remained the same.

The problem occurred when I use 'original size'. Can you try that on your side? I realise you used one of the default size (2x3) in your video, the problem may only be isolated when 'original size' is selected.

Thanks

Also, I forgot to mention, you asked in the video. I use original size mainly because I print on 24" wide papers, would usually run print jobs for many different clients with many different sizes in a single print job.

Thanks for your help Fred.

PS: you might be able to replicate the issue as mentioned in my earlier post by selecting 'original size'
