Title: But the image IS 16 bit RGB!
Post by: JFFPhoto on June 15, 2018, 03:13:34 PM
I've been wrestling with trying to print a 12 foot panorama for a day and I can't figure out what my problem is. I tried printing directly from Qimage, and it just kept telling me printing was aborted. So I tried the automate/qimage Ultimate option from Photoshop and i get an error message asking me to verify that the image is 8/16 bit and RGB. It is, but it still won't print.

It's a 383mb JPEG image. When I analyze current settings/shift, I get start:2146, Addl: 1509, Now:2146.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Some questions.
What printer?
What size paper?
What size print?
How was the JPG made?
Qimage is telling you or the driver is telling you that "Printing was Aborted"

The printer is an Epson SC P9000.

It's roll paper. The media size is properly set at 44x148.

The JPG was made in photoshop.

Qimage is telling me "Qimage could not load the file: xxx
                                 Current print session aborted."

Thanks for the information.

I downloaded and installed the driver for your printer.
I set media size as you set it; 44 x 148
I selected Luster paper for my setting.
Turned off color management.
I selected a JPG image and made the size print FIT TO PAGE.
I get a print size of 147.766 x 43.766.That is the printable area of a page of 44.0 x 148.0
I set PRINT PREVIEW ON in the driver, and close driver, and click print in Qimage Ultimate.
Qimage processed the image as witnessed by the blue progress bar, lower right corner.
A print file was created and sent to the driver. After a few seconds, the print preview showed the print ready for the actual printer.

No problem that I can see here.
I suggest that you create another JPG in Qimage by placing yours in the queue, right click, select CONVERT. Set to JPG and profile to profile conversion on to sRGB.
The try to print that JPG.
Alternate might be to make another JPG in Photo Shop carefully watching the parameters.
As you can see by attached screen snap, it seems to be fine.

Sounds like the image is too big to be loaded.  What is the resolution of the JPEG: that will tell us how much RAM is needed.

Mike

I sorted it out, guys. I just reduced the file size by two thirds. I didn't know there were any limitations.
