I am a new potential user of QImage and I am having problems with the interface. I have some prints that are going into a competition and the print size must be 8x10. I need to change the aspect ratio of my picture so that it is 8x10 without cropping and of the image. I know the picture will have a slightly different appearance but I can not afford to lose any of the picture.
I can't figure out how to do this in QImage.
DON
Don, what you are asking for is nothing more than "distortion" which Qimage will not do.
But, he's something that might work for you.
Remember, you likely have a 3:2 aspect ration from your camera as most DSLR will shoot that ratio.
You really cannot change that to 5:4 without losing something from the image.
Here's what to try
Put the image into the Queue. Print size is 8 x 10 with Crop scissors on.
Go ito the Page editor screen.
Select the CROPPING TAB
You will have your large image on the left and a small one in a little window in the upper right.
Using your mouse (cursor becomes a hand) You can drag the small image toward or away from any red bars you see in that box.
Hopefully you will be able to select as much of the image you need to fit into the 8 x 10 print
Click done
