Changing overall saturation in Q.U.

Hi--

I have been using Qimage for years, but one function continues to remain a mystery to me, and that is making an overall reduction or increase to saturation. It seems one has to change specific channels; the selective filter color chart comes up, I get confused, so I end up ignoring it and using PS to change overall saturation.

I have done a topic search in the guide and it isn't obvious to me that there is a simple way to simply reduce or increase overall saturation via a slider, or something similar.

Could someone please correct me and/or clarify?

Hi Liz,
Admittedly, the Sel Color tab is difficult to master. It will be addressed soon so I am told.
The overall saturation, however, is not done in Sel color.

It is simply done in Saturation on the Adjust tab screen. See attached screen snap.

If you want to achieve increased or decreased saturation in the entire image, levae the checkmark inserted in LOCK, and simply enter a % of increase. (10%, 25%, 50% etc)
If you want one color increased over the others, simply uncheck LOCK , drop down the list of colors under RED, and select the color or colors you wish to change.

(For fun, a -100 will make a decent B&W)

You must be clicking the SEL COL (Selective Colour) tab in the editor. The main Saturation adjustment is on the left hand "Adjust" tab.
It has the ability to adjust all channels with the Lock ticked or individually with Lock un-ticked. Settings can be from -100 to 100 with zero as no adjustment.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I never understood what the lock option meant, or that choosing it "links" all colors, when I only saw Red listed.

Is there some place in the manual that explains what you explained, that I just couldn't find? I just looked again, doing a full Adobe Acrobat search. I used the terms "saturation," "adjust," "adjust saturation" and "adjusting saturation," and I still didn't even see it, though honestly it might be buried somewhere....
