Title: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: Winfried on July 14, 2019, 10:46:57 AM I just saw that characters of the "Print Info" and "Text Annotations" are poorly rendered.
This can be seen if you print to file with higher PPI. i.e. 300 PPI The rendering of the Floating Text is fine. Thanks, Winfried Title: Re: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: Fred A on July 14, 2019, 11:18:52 AM Quote I just saw that characters of the "Print Info" and "Text Annotations" are poorly rendered. Please check your settings for the font and point size used. EDIT Preferences see screen snaps attached Set yours like mine, and let's see what we get. Fred Title: Re: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: Winfried on July 14, 2019, 11:33:17 AM My settings look nearly the same.
But I printed to file with 300 PPI and looked at the text in my photo-editor. I guess the image is interpolated with Fusion but the text only with Pixel Resize. It is not realy a problem for me, just a small glitch Winfried Title: Re: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: Fred A on July 14, 2019, 12:20:34 PM Quote It is not realy a problem for me, just a small glitch I see you have Ariel which may be prone to blockiness.I really think it is the viewer you are using. See attached from the Qimage viewer, 800% magnification and 1600% magnification. Also your screen resolution may tweak it too. Make a print. That is your test. Fred Title: Re: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: Winfried on July 14, 2019, 12:47:41 PM I don't think that it might be a problem of the viewer.
The image of my starting post is a 100% crop from the "printed to file"-file. Therefor there should be no interpolation of the viewer thats spoils the image. I printed to file with 300PPI. This means that the characters have to be scaled to this 300PPI by Qimage. This scaling works fine with Floating Text but not with the Print info. Winfried Title: Re: Characters or poorly rendered/Print Info Post by: admin on July 15, 2019, 06:17:32 PM There is no scaling with regard to text: the text is rendered at the specified PPI which is calculated at print time. So what you see is how Windows renders the text. What I would suggest is going to Edit, Preferences, Print and Page Formatting, Print Info/Annotation Font, and choose a better font. Some fonts render better than others, particularly if the font has to be rendered small.
