I have been unable to update my QU13-107.
Have tried each time a new version has been released but I keep getting the message QU13-111_exe couldnt be downloaded.
A file has been created but 0kb saying partial download.
Does any one know what I have done to cause this ?
Thanks

Does any one know what I have done to cause this ? Couple of things to try. We have heard this before, not with the zero byte file, but with inability to download a file that would install. Disable your anti virus and try the download again... and make sure that your computer security setting isn't too high to prevent clean install. Let us know! Fred

only started after 107 So I have to point out that there are many thousands of successful upgrades and installs. That calls for the question: Have you changed anything in your computer? Can you coordinate the time this problem started with anything, even a Windows update. Can you try uninstalling Qimage and reinstalling using the 111 download. I really have no other ideas... Maybe a Registry clean? Maybe someone on here that has a firm grasp of Windows and what could possibly cause this? Fred

rockingroy, One possibility that is causing the problem: Is it more than 1 year since you purchased Qimage Ultimate or paid an update renewal fee? If that is the case then you need to pay the $19.99 to get further updates. Terry

I dismissed that idea based on you saying you had a 0 kb file started and a noted Partial Download... Could that have been there from some previous attempt? Try to delete that zero byte partial. Usually, if your membership is not paid up, you will be denied access to the download. So to clarify, step by step, what do you do and how far do you get? Fred

So to clarify, step by step, what do you do and how far do you get? It would also be worth clicking Help/About/Update now to get a new link and password e-mail from Mike to start again. Terry

A box comes up asking me if i want to save I select save as and make sure it is going into my correct directory on one of my drives and accept the default file name.
Then it comes back and says couldnt be downloaded I then select atempt retry which gives me the same message couldnt be downloaded.

Does it ask whether you want to SAVE or RUN> If so try Run. Also need to know what Browser you are using to access the download page? How about Anti Virus? OFF too? What drive? Is the drive writable? Were you able to delete that previous zero byte file? Fred

Hello Fred I am using Internet Explorer with Win 7 I have 4 seperate hard drives for storing files with a dedicated directory for Qimage ultimate updates. I can delete the o byte files no problem Your box looks like it is a MAC My download box is 1/2" high by about 12" long asking do you want to save qu13-111_exe (16.5mb) from www.ddisoftware.comIt only has 2 buttons 1st one says save with an arrow pop down with save, save as,save and open the last one is greyed out. second button just says cancel. Then just a X to close the whole box.

The screen snap is from the one I never use; Internet Explorer. I wanted to see if perhaps, that was causing a lockout! So the screen snap is from W7 Explorer. So all I can suggest is somehow you have to find out what causes your response from Explorer to be different. I never use Explorer so I am not even slightly familiar with it. Perhaps, some help from others?? Fred

I was just re-reading your posts... Can you double check an item? 1) Make sure that the dedicated directory didn't somehow get its attributes changed to READ ONLY. I got fooled once like that. I had copied a directory from a CD to Hard drive, and the darned thing was in Read Only mode. Qimage couldn't write to folder when I did a filter change. Grasping at straws...... but trying! Fred

I have CaptureNX on my computer and have just downloaded this update into the same directory
Pherhaps I can try the download on another computer just to see.

I have tried downloading from other sources into the same directroy no problem. I really sympathize with you, and I hope you realize we are only trying to help. The only times I can ever recall someone having a bad install were caused by all the possibilities I outlined in my previous posts. You aren't even getting a download. That points to some breach of computer protocol. So I am out of ideas. I would appreciate it if you would let us know when you finally find the reason and the cure. Best, Fred
