Title: Create grid with images centered in grid spaces
Post by: steve@grandrivergiclee.co on November 22, 2023, 08:56:14 PM
I often have to print a series of images in a grid that is then trimmed to standard sizes. For example, I may need to print a 5x7, a 6x9, and a 4.5x6 image all centered on 8x10 pieces of paper. So I specify a paper size of 24x10, add the images, but then I have to manually place them using the image location feature on the full page editor. This is time consuming and involves having to do sometimes complicated math. This is a simple example but I often have to do this with much larger layouts.

So I'm wondering if there is an easier way to do this. It would be nice if you could create a grid on a larger piece of paper and then have the images automatically centered withing each section of the grid. For example you could create a grid of 12 8x10 sections on a 24x40 piece of paper and then have the images automatically center withing the grid spaces as you add them to the layout.

That is the purpose of custom layouts.  You can't auto-arrange prints in a recursive "page within a page" scenario so you make layouts that conform to the size you like and save the layout.  This way you only have to set things up once.
