You didn't say what size prints you were shooting for, so using 2:3 aspect as you said, I went to custom, Number of prints on page, I made 4 columns and 13 rows that = 52..
Print size comes out 2.42 x 1.74.

I do not need any template unless I am thinking of odd placements and I want to save it.
I do not need crop scissor on because you said they were 2:3
Am I close to what you want?

Fred. Thanks for having a go at my problem. I showed a screen grab to my friend, of my first try which was similar to the layout that you achieved in your firts response. His comment back was that he wanted the spaces more equal above and below each image. Yours has a a fairly large gap horixontally, but no gap vertically. Your later two have no gaps. I guess I could achieve this by adding white above (and/or below) of each image in PhotoShop. But this would seem a little unnecessary. Surely it should be possible in Qimage. The exact size of each image on my final spaced out images on my A2 sheet is not so imprtant.

Heres' how:
Right click. Select all images. (Now what you do to one, you do to all.)
Right click. Select Photo Mats uneven borders.
Open that and see my screen snap.

Each side has the ability to be sized separately. I have .09 inches on all sides (normal brint border with equal sides)
You can change any side you wish...  The little plus sign tells Qimage that you want THAT size applied to all sides.

So if you want the bottom bat bigger, you put 0.15 in the bottom size. Sometimes I do that to add some text explaining the location of the shot.

You have two color selection tools, and below that, whether you want the image to shrink and maintain size including the border, or allow the image to retain size and have the border grow outside of the image.
In other words, a 4 x 6 print will be 4 x 6 including the border, or 4 x 6 plus the border   which is 4 x 6 + border
