Can someone please tell me why when I try to crop an odd sized image to 8 x 6" by clicking on the Scissors symbol in the size menu and then going into the crop page, that when I do it and put in 6 and 8" the final image ends up as a 6.00 x 8.12 not 6 x 8" exactly?

Also...how do you get the Print Properties menu to open up when the image is already in the pane. I have listened to the tutorial a couple of times and you sya "click and hold" and it pops up, but....click and hold what and where should the curser be at that time? Doing a search for print properrties in the Help/Find menu finds nothing relevant to that question.  :-\

Sounds like you have the INFO box checked.
That will make .12 larger

Hold down the Right Mouse button for 2 seconds.
Also and a better way, is to click the print property button *gray horiz stripes just to the left of the red minus button that removes the image.

See snap.

Thanks for your swift reply Fred, how is the weather out there in Florida. We have had seven weeks of sun here in London, but today we have had a downpour. Great relief! I was in the US for ten days up until last week, and went on a PS course at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops with Adobe's Julieann Kost. An amazing course!
But back to QU! Two questions. Where is this Info box you mention, I can't see it? and wouldn't this affect both width and height dimensions equally? Why just one. Thanks for the Hold for the click and HOLD for a bit tip, that works.

Hi Jules,

Our weather is sort of hum drum in the summer.
It is so predictable (High for the day 92 F, low 74F) with clear and sunny days, clouding with thunder clouds and heavy rain for about 45 minutes every afternoon, that our TV weather people look for something to get excited about.
"HEAVY RAIN REPORTED on I 75 between Sarasota and Fort Meyers... go slow"

Back to your Qimage question.
The box is located below the PrtrICC and to the right.
See screen snap

It only affects one side because Qimage is making a bit of room for the  filename and location which is printed only on one end.
I think you are envisioning a border where all 4 sides have the same extra...

If you ever get to the Sarasota, Fl area, we have a free seminar on Qimage Ultimate which includes a free lunch.... beat that....

One more item I should mention!
There is a difference between getting the Print Property box using the Right Mouse HOLD method and using the gray button.

The Right mouse HOLD will allow (for example) adding a border to *subsequent additions to the queue*
Whereas, the Gray striped Print Property button on the screen image itself will allow changes to that image and subsequent images added.

The penny has dropped, at last I get it! The info adds a little bit if distance to one side to add the name of the file or whatever. It's hot here, my brain is not working at 100%. Thanks Fred, brilliant.
