It is the exact filename you wanted. I have a question: "Backup Database" is to backup all the info descriptions; not the entire data base.. If you wish to backup your entire data base, use MIGRATE found lower down in the same drop down menu. Hope this helps. What are you seeing that makes you think it didn't work? See attached:
If you select Utilities, Manage Database, Back Up the Database, it gives you screen 1 attached. If you just accept the file name and click Save, it saves it. Then click Utilities, Manage Database, Restore the Database, it gives you screen 2 attached: the file is there, proving it was saved, and you could select it to restore if you like. I select the utilities, etc. get to the save screen, select save then the save dialog screen just closes and checking the folder- it is empty.

You graciously advised the Person with the issue (or what is thought to be an issue) the proper function for each of the functions and neither of those were identified as what they really are according to your information.

I select the utilities, etc. get to the save screen, select save then the save dialog screen just closes and checking the folder- it is empty. Are you sure you are checking the right folder? That save dialog is a standard save dialog so once you click the save button, it has no choice but to save the file. So at that point if it really doesn't save, either something else (like an antivirus program) is preventing the save or maybe there is a screwy character in the file name. Maybe try a simple file name like "MyBackup.dbb". Regards, Mike |
