except if I choose the normal paper type and the quality that I want, AI automatically changes it to draft quality.
You mean "Plain Paper"? That printer model seems to force quality back to "Draft" if you set it to plain paper and try to select the highest quality outside the driver. Not sure why it is doing that. The photo papers all work fine. Could be because it's not a photo printer... or maybe they figure no one is going to try to print "high quality" photos on copy paper.
