I am having problems with ai.
How can I print a photo at the quality I assign without Ai deciding the quality she wants?

I select the printer drivers to control the color management... In the printer configuration dialog I select the type of paper (normal) and the quality that I want. Ai decides for me and sets the printer to print in draft quality always. Why?

Is it possible to disable the ai?

First, AI does not pick draft quality.  It is picking the highest quality available for the paper type you have selected.  You are probably using an old Epson driver that shows a "Quality option" on the "Basic" setup: that is nothing more than a preference and it is not an indication of the quality setting.  If you click the "Advanced" button on the lower right to get off that "Basic" display, you'll see the actual print quality.

Second, you have full control over the AI features.  Click the gear button to the right of the Properties button where you open the driver: you can turn on/off all features of AI with the checkboxes on the bottom.  Don't want AI to always select the highest quality: just uncheck the one that controls resolution.

Mike

Effectively, Ai automatically chooses the best possible quality for the type of paper chosen.
I have Let printer/driver manage color option selected
I have an Epson 2750. This is, effectively,  the case, except if I choose the normal paper type  and the quality that I want, AI automatically changes it to draft quality. (??) no the best quality.

Thanks for explainng how to desactivate ai.

You mean "Plain Paper"?  That printer model seems to force quality back to "Draft" if you set it to plain paper and try to select the highest quality outside the driver.  Not sure why it is doing that.  The photo papers all work fine.  Could be because it's not a photo printer... or maybe they figure no one is going to try to print "high quality" photos on copy paper.  Wink
