Title: Dot Gain 15% - Error message in Soft Proof
Post by: Thomas Krüger on October 11, 2011, 07:39:51 AM
We are printing a series of scanned paper pinhole prints from clients. The assigned profile, probably from the scanner, is Dot Gain 15%. Clicking the soft proof in Qimage results in the following error message:
"Qimage has encountered a corrupted or incompatible ICC profile while processing the file: xxxxx.jpg
Please check the ICC profiles associated with your images, monitor, and printer to be sure that they are valid RGB profiles."

The printer is a HP Z3100, and the paper and monitor profiles are loaded in Qimage, so the problem is with the profile Dot Gain 15% of the greyscale print.
Actually the images are post processed in Photoshop with ProPhoto RGB, but I'm just curious why do I get the error message checking the greyscale image directly in Qimage?
