Hi,
Above standing option is grayed out in my workflow, in other words not selectable.
(b.t.w. at the moment I've not installed a Canon and/or Epson printer.)

Is there a reasonable answer for that?

Are you printing to file?  Overdrive resolution is not available in print to file mode.
