I am unable to open qimage.
Win10 machine, latest win updates.
Qimage ran fine about a week ago.  Nothing changed on the computer that I am aware of.
Qimage would not open, so I tried downloading and installing a new copy- no change at all.

When I open qimage, first it acts as if it was a new install (even before I reinstalled qimage), do I want to go the video training screen,  then the confirm monitor profile screen.
Then I get an error message- "An error occured while loading printer driver settings for canon pro-10 series"    The pro-10 is one of 4printers I use.
I then get an error code:
Exception EAccssVioloation in module Qimage.exe at 0017A937.
Access violation at address 0057A937 in module "Qimage.exe". Read of address 0000004C.

Trying to print a job, any help would be appreciated.
I am an old fart so computer issues are not easy for me- hopefully this is simple
Thanks

Some of the latest Windows (10 and 11) updates have been removing printer drivers and that causes Windows to install a generic driver.  If that happened, that driver may not be compatible with Qimage's saved settings.  Let's try three things:

(1) Download and install the latest printer driver from the manufacturer of your printer (Epson, Canon, etc.).  See if that solves it.  If not, go to step (2).

(2) Start Qimage in safe mode by holding the shift key while you are starting Qimage.  Then go to Help, Reset printer settings.  Restart Qimage and see if it opens OK.  If so, you'll need to set up the driver and other settings manually.  Don't load any old printer setups since they may bring back old/incompatible settings: you'd have to recreate those.  If this doesn't solve it, go to step (3).

(3) Report here: what antivirus software are you using?

Regards,
Mike

Downloaded and updated print driver- no change.
Started Qimage in safe mode, and reset printer settings- so far so good!   Thanks!
Antiviral I use Avast

Thanks for the rapid response, so far so good.
I think I am going to turn off win updates for a while, they are doing too many odd things.
Thanks again!
I will get back as I try other printers- but hopefully all will stay stable.
