I won't dare speak for Mike and I truely like the program to death, but I think what your asking is to turn QImage into a post processing program like Corels PSP or Adobe Photoshop and I think that would be a huge mistake for Mike.
IMHO.. I think some of the PP fuctionality is already bordering on 'too much'. Trying to mimic the others with too much PP features would kill it! Mike has a niche program, and it does what it does best, augmenting, amplifying, and simplifying printing solutions !.
I do all my PP in ACR and CS5, but all my printing in QImage.

I think your view is very valid, hence my comment that Mike may not want to go down 'this road'
I just thought that Mike may be able to just extend the Blemish feature a bit.
